Pastor Scott Dorn

Greetings! I grew up in Telford, PA and lived there most of my life. I am the second oldest of five brothers and two sisters. I went to Souderton Area High School and played drums in the marching band and the indoor drum line. Searching for direction after high school, I enlisted in the U.S. Army, where. I served in an artillery unit for two years as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division. The Lord allowed me to get out of the military after I injured my knee on the drop zone; I was honorably discharged in 1996.

After the military, I had a new lease on life as a Christian. I attended West Chester University, where I met my wife Nicole. I ended up leaving WCU and eventually attended Valley Forge Christian College and graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. degree in Pastoral Ministry and a minor in Counseling in 2005. After college, my wife and I took a step of faith and moved to Biloxi, Mississippi where I served as an Associate Pastor for a little over a year. It was eight months after Hurricane Katrina wreaked havoc on the entire gulf coast. The Lord informed me that He had other plans for me, so we moved back to Pennsylvania where I later received a divine appointment while working as a lawn care tech.

 

My wife and I have been married for 24 years and have two children, Mia and Owen. Nicole currently works in human resources. I graduated from Palmer Theological Seminary, with a Master of Divinity degree in 2013 and I was ordained as an Elder in the UMC in 2017. I love to teach the Word of God and I have a passion for ministering to all age groups. It is an absolute honor and a privilege to serve my call as a minister of the gospel! I am excited for the great things the Lord has in store for Hope UMC!
